Hi I need help. Insert disk Please insert a disk into Drive DriveLetter :. Need more help? Expand your skills. Get new features first. Was this information helpful? Yes No. Thank you! I am new to Vista and I know this is very basic and I am going to be embarrased, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to make it read "live file" files. Your reply was somewhat helpful, but I still don't understand where I am going wrong.

As I understand it, I am writing to a "huge " floppy drive.. Shouldn't I be able to right click on "start" and then drive "E" and then read the contents of my DVD? What you want the disk to do is act like a large floppy in that case you will need some type of packed writing program like incd, or a disk burning program that will let you make a data disk where you can drop files on and off like a floppy, as long as you are using rewriteable disks.

This appears to be a little more complicated then I thought. This is the steps that I went through. Airforce retired. Airforce Retired Bien Hoa I did not attempt to do anything With The CD when it was in the other computer, except to try to find an exe file to download to the other computer.

I would think I had lost everything off the CD except properties shows that I am using mb. If drive is not shown then continue below.

Then work your way through these - remember the drive could be bad, could have a loose cable or slight corrosion on the contacts usually for a laptop and other issues. Remove ALL power, then check cables in both ends. Remove and replace, do not just snug. For laptops you can often clean the power and data contacts with a pencil eraser. Hope these help.
