How to add block attributes in autocad
Since attributes are part of a block definition, they must be saved as part of the block. When you first create the block, you can create each attribute as an object and then save those attributes along with the other objects that make up the block.
Or, you can add attributes to an existing block by opening the existing block in the Block Editor and then add attributes to the existing block definition.
In this drawing, lines and arcs have already been used to draw a telephone. Before you turn it into a block, however, you will add some attribute definitions so that you can store data such as the telephone number assigned to the phone and the name of the person who uses the phone. After you add those attributes and save the block, when you insert instances of the telephone block into the drawing, you will be able to specify the telephone number and username to each instance of the block.
Then, at a later time, you can extract that data to create a parts list, or perhaps a telephone directory. Before you create the block, you must create a new layer on which to create the attributes. Now you are ready to define your first attribute. The program displays the Attribute Definition dialog.
There are several pieces of information that you must provide, and several options that you can choose. In the Attribute group box, each attribute must have a unique tag, which is essentially the name of the attribute. You can also enter a prompt that will appear when you insert the block so that you know the purpose of the attribute. And, you can specify a default value for the attribute. In the Mode group box, you can select any of the checkboxes to control whether the attribute will be invisible or visible, whether it has a constant or variable value, whether the program will prompt you to verify the attribute value, and so on.
In the Text Settings group box, you can specify the appearance of the attribute text, controlling settings such as the justification, text style, text height, and so on. The first attribute will be for the phone number. In the Text Settings group box, expand the Justification drop-down and choose Middle.
For example, you can control. After you create one or more attribute definitions, you attach them to a block by including them in the selection set when you define or redefine that block. To use several attributes together, define them and then include them in the same block. Usually, the order of the attribute prompts is the same as the order in which you selected the attributes when you created the block. However, if you used crossing or window selection to select the attributes, the order of the prompts is the reverse of the order in which you created attributes.
You can use the Block Attribute Manager to change the order in which you are prompted for attribute information when you insert the block reference. Stand-alone attributes can also be created. Once attributes have been defined, and the drawing is saved, this drawing file can be inserted into another drawing. When the drawing is inserted, you are prompted for the attribute values. What Are Attributes? When you define an attribute, you specify A unique tag that identifies the attribute by name A prompt that can be displayed as the block is inserted A default value that is used if a variable value is not entered at the prompt.
Note: It is important to make sure that attribute tags have unique names. The Enhanced Attribute Editor will display any duplicate tags in red.
In the Block Attribute Manager, select a block from the Block list, or click Select Block and select a block in the drawing area. In the list of attributes, double-click the attribute you want to edit, or select the attribute and click Edit. Click Conversion Tools tab Attributes panel.

Select the row with the attribute that you want to edit and click the Edit button. The Edit Attribute dialog box opens. Click the Properties tab and use the settings to change the layer, linetype, color, and other properties. Select your new attribute size by either picking on a similar text or attribute entity or by manually entering the size value into the edit box.
Enter the new width factor into the edit box. Select the text entity to convert. Define the attribute tag name. To insert a block, do one of the following: Select an icon or a block name from the block definitions displayed in the gallery. Click the location for the block reference.
